What Do Face Masks Do?

Whether you use face masks for pampering or relaxation, you’re about to discover multiple other reasons to get muddy {pun intended}! Once applied, a face mask penetrates the skin’s pores, binds to impurities (dead skin cells, dirt, make-up residue), and draws them to the surface of your skin. While the mask is on, nutrients are being absorbed into the skin and excess oils are getting soaked up. Blood circulation is stimulated as the mask begins to dry and the skin is pulled taut. This sequence of actions is what gives you the best results!

11 Benefits of Face Mask Treatments

  2. Refine pores
  3. Treat acne
  4. Firm and tighten saggy, wrinkly skin
  5. Diminish hyper-pigmentation
  6. Remove dead skin cell build-up
  7. Improve blood circulation to the face
  8. Enhance collagen production
  9. Replenish nutrients
  10. Tone skin
  11. Make skin glow

How To Use

  1. Use your daily cleanser to wash your face. You want to make sure all your make-up is removed! Gently pat dry.
  2. Before applying the mask, start by dabbing a small amount of serum around the eyes to protect this delicate skin and prevent it from drying out.
  3. Wet your face and neck. Apply a thin layer mask onto your face and extend onto your décolletage. Make sure you avoid the eye area and keep your nostrils clear. Also be careful not to rub the mask into your skin. This could cause irritation.
  4. Wait until the mask just begins to dry. This is especially important to note, because clay masks can draw the moisture out of your skin if it is left to dry completely!
  5. Using a warm face cloth, hold it up to your face, and let the steam dissolve the mask. This acts sort of like a steam facial while gently loosening up the mask. Rinse mask off completely. Pat dry using a towel.
  6. Moisturize with your favorite face cream!
  7. Repeat 2-3 times per week!
