How to (Still) Look Good During Quarantine: Ways to Stay on Top of Your Beauty Regimen!
Things are getting gnarly out there, ladies! But that is not an excuse to let your appearance suffer. You can still look good during quarantine if you keep up with your personal care.
Here are a few ways you can stay on top of your beauty regimen during your time away from the salons.
Shower Every Day
Yes, showering seems like a simple thing, but honestly it’s easy to get away with not showering when you know you have nowhere to go! Showering sets the tone for your day. It’s something that you can do to keep some sense of ‘normalcy’ during these not-so-normal times.
Say ‘No’ to Stubble
Another thing that’s easy to avoid is shaving. Shaving isn’t necessary. You’re right! But just because you’re staying inside all day doesn’t mean you should walk around your house looking like a Sasquatch!
When you’re freshly shaven, you are more likely to get dressed up nicely. You’ll be comfortable wearing leg-baring clothes and sleeveless tops. It just makes it that much more enticing to ‘shop’ your wardrobe.
Get Dressed
Robe life. That’s most likely your go-to attire these days, right? While it’s comfortable to wear a robe, it isn’t really meant to wear all day, every day. If you want to feel cute and put together, get dressed!
Tame Your Brows
You may be used to getting a regular eyebrow waxing, but now that you’re in quarantine, it’s time to switch things up! Maybe you can take advantage of this time to go for that full, bushy, boy-brow look. Don’t overdo it though! Make sure you tweeze/trim those stray hairs. Use a spoolie brush + brow gel to set your brow hairs in place and keep them tamed!
Condition Your Lashes
So your lash extensions have probably fallen out by now. It’s an opportune time to condition your lashes and use lash serum to help grow your own lashes longer, thicker, and healthier than before! While waiting for your lashes to come in longer and thicker, use an eyelash curler to give them a nice lift. Then add some lash primer to add volume before you apply your mascara!
Keep Your Nails Trimmed
Now that you can’t go to the salon to get a manicure, it’s necessary that you trim your nails regularly. You can even shape your nails using a nail file to make them look uniform and neat.
Since you’ve got some extra time on your hands, why not try and apply your own nail polish? If you find applying colored nail polish too difficult, a clear coat is much easier. You won’t even tell if it’s not applied evenly. A coat of polish will not only make you appear like you’ve got your life in order, it will also strengthen your nails so you can grow them out long naturally! 😉
Brush Your Mane
Brushing your hair isn’t for vanity’s sake alone. There are actually health benefits associated with hair brushing. Brushing stimulates the blood vessels in your scalp and encourages blood flow. Increased blood circulation allows for more nutrients to be delivered to your hair follicles which may help activate hair growth + possibly even reduce hair loss. In addition, brushing your scalp triggers your sebaceous glands to secrete more sebum which helps condition and protect your hair!
Indulge in Your Skincare Routine
Now that you’re home more than ever before, why not indulge in a lavish skincare routine? Since you don’t have to go anywhere, you can literally do skin treatments all day long and allow products to soak in and penetrate fully! You no longer need to cut your skincare routine short! You can slather on your skincare products and not have to worry about leaving your house looking shiny! #quarantineandskincare
