If you’re an avid tea drinker, then there’s one more reason for you to rejoice. Tea is both an overall healthy beverage and a magic potion for your skin! Its health benefits are countless, but here’s just a few of the best teas you need to consume for your best skin complexion ever!

Chamomile Tea

Chamomile is known for its calming effects and sleep enhancing benefits. When you sleep, it’s time for your skin to repair and heal. This is a vital time for skin renewal and regeneration. Chamomile also contains an antioxidant called quercetin, that fights free radical damage to your skin and prevents wrinkles.

Jasmine Tea

Jasmine tea has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antibacterial properties. It’s great at preventing early signs of aging and can also be used to help treat certain skin conditions such as eczema and acne.

Green Tea

Green Tea is packed with type of flavonoid called catechins. Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) are the most abundant type of catechin found in green tea. Catechins are powerful antioxidants capable of neutralizing free radicals and preventing cellular damage.

Kombucha

Kombucha is a beverage made from fermented tea. It is a natural probiotic that can detoxify your gut and help improve your skin’s complexion.

Ginger Tea

Ginger tea is not only a potent immune-boosting drink. It has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties which may help reduce the occurrence of acne breakouts.

Oregon Grape Root Tea

The Oregon grape root (Latin name Mahonia aquifolium) comes from a shrub native to the Pacific Northwest regions, from British Columbia and all the way to northern California. It’s been traditionally used to treat digestive issues and to detoxify the liver and kidneys. However, recent studies have shown that this tea is also beneficial at treating skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, and acne.

Matcha Tea

Matcha’s vibrant green color comes from its high levels of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is a natural detoxifier and improves your body’s capacity to deliver nutrients and oxygen to your cells. That’s definitely bound to improve your skin’s complexion!

Hibiscus Tea

This trumpet-shaped flower, is often called the botox plant because of its ability to inhibit the breakdown of elastin. Breakdown of elastin causes your skin to lose elasticity and starts the development of wrinkles. Anything that prevents the process of aging is definitely worth drinking!

Aside from keeping your skin nice and firm, hibiscus tea also has anti-inflammatory properties. So it’s also great at treating acne, burns, and other types of skin irritations or allergies.

Question: What’s your favorite tea to drink and why?
