Sure, your scars may be a symbol of strength or tenacity, but you don’t need a daily reminder of the traumatic events associated with them! You can, over time, fade away those scars, along with the painful memories that once were.

8 Ways to Fade Your Scars Naturally

Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe vera gel is perfect to use at the beginning of your wound healing process. It helps speed up wound healing and prevents scarring by lessening inflammation and redness.

Massage

Once your scar is fully healed, it’s important you keep massaging it daily to break down the hardened tissue and soften up the skin. This process can take months, so persistence is key!

Marula Oil

Marula (sclerocarya birrea) oil comes from the kernel of the fruit of the marula tree, native to Africa.  It has superb emollient properties that can assist in softening up your hardened scar tissue.  It also has incredible antioxidant properties stemming from its rich content of phenolic compounds, and Vitamins C & E.  Antioxidants support skin healing and help fade away scars.

Shea Butter

Shea butter is a wonderful emollient effective at softening scar tissue. The fatty acids and antioxidants also prevent the formation of keloid scars.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is rich in Vitamins A, E, & K. It keeps your skin hydrated, softens and lightens scars, plus, won’t clog your pores. So you can safely apply this oil to your skin and leave it on overnight!

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is one of the most popular scar healing remedies on the market today, and for good reason. This powerful antioxidant protects your skin from sun damage, keeps your skin hydrated, softens scars, and helps regenerate new skin cells.

Amla Paste

Amla (gooseberry) paste is an ancient Indian remedy for scars. It’s most effective on freshly formed scars. You can buy premade paste or make your own using the store bought powder and adding water to it. Applying this paste to your wound can speed up healing and help fade any scarring.

Baking Soda

Baking soda acts as a mild abrasive and can help fade your scar. You can make a paste by adding water and then gently rubbing it onto the affected area. Let the paste dry and then rinse.

Bovine Colostrum

Bovine colostrum works like a charm for healing scars! It reduces inflammation while stimulating new cellular growth.

Have you tried any of these remedies? Which ones worked for you?
