What to Pack for Your Next Camping Trip | Your Ultimate Glamping Beauty Checklist!
Camping might not be your idea of a fancy getaway, but if you must go, you may as well glam it up!
We’ve gone ahead and compiled the ultimate list of beauty and toiletry items you need to pack if you want to feel as fresh and put together as possible while exploring your adventurous wild side – some may call this ‘GLAMPING’.
Your Ultimate Glamping Beauty Checklist!
- Cleansing Wipes
If you have limited access to running water, it is a wise idea to bring cleansing wipes. Find ones that are scent-free so they are mild enough to use on your face if/when needed! - Face Wash
When you do have access to running water, a face cleanser is a nice-to-have! Select a SLS-free formula that won’t dry out your skin. - DIY Travel-size Face Cream Sachets
Avoid bringing expensive face creams that come in large bottles and risk leaking into your bags. Make your own travel-size sachets! You can buy small mylar bags online for cheap, fill ’em with your favorite hydrating day cream, and seal ’em using a heat sealer*. Travel-size sachets are perfect to bring on your next camping adventure since they are single use and won’t make a mess!
*Useful Tip: If you don’t have a heat sealer, use your hair straightener on the lowest setting to quickly seal your diy skincare sachets! - Sun Block
Since you’ll be spending the bulk of your time outdoors, it’s a wise idea to bring sun block. Remember to use mineral based sun block vs. chemical based sunscreen. Mineral based sun block reflects UV rays, whereas chemical based sunscreens absorb them. Plus, chemical based sunscreens penetrate your skin easily and disrupt your endocrine system; so they’re not a healthy choice. - Essential Oil Bug Spray
You’ll want to bring along DEET-free bug spray. Various essential oils work well at repelling bugs, so may as well choose a natural bug spray over its counterpart. - Natural Deodorant
If you want to avoid attracting mosquitoes, it’s probably a good idea to avoid floral scented deodorant. A natural scent-free deodorant is your best choice. - Mineral Powder Foundation
If you want to get some light coverage + natural SPF15, mineral powder foundation serves dual purpose! - Retractable Powder Brush
Whenever you’re travelling, it’s important to ensure you keep your makeup tools clean. The best way to keep your brush clean is to purchase one that is retractable. That way, you can be sure you won’t contaminate it. - Waterproof Mascara
Because camping can be unpredictable at times, wearing waterproof mascara is your best option. You’ll avoid the dreaded raccoon eyes if water happens to meet your face. - Nude Colored Lip Gloss
To pull your natural makeup look together, a simple nude lip gloss is a must-have! - Plastic Toiletry Bag
If you’ve ever been in those campground washrooms, you’ll totally understand why a plastic toiletry/makeup bag is a non-negotiable. Water is bound to come into contact with your bag, and plastic will keep the water out. You can also wipe your bag clean with a cleansing wipe if it happens to get soiled. - Q-Tips
Q-tips are {and always will be} a beauty and toiletry staple. Period. - Bar of Soap with Plastic Case
As mentioned earlier, anything liquid is best left at home. So instead of body wash, opt for a simple bar of soap which you can easily store in a plastic case. - Compact Mirror
Mirrors are hard to come by when you’re camping, so bringing a compact one will be a lifesaver! - Dry Shampoo
Dry shampoo is a simple and effective way to keep your locks looking and feeling fresh! - Wide Tooth Comb or Detangling Brush
If your hair tends to get tangled easily, you’ll appreciate having a hair tool that easily gets the knots out. - Blotting Cloths
When you’re out camping, you’re more active. You tend to get more sweaty than usual, so your skin might become oilier. Blotting cloths can take care of soaking up excess oil in a pinch! - Female Urinating Device
This is um…dare we say a taboo subject? If you’re like most girls, you probably don’t like to squat or hover over random greenery. A female urinating device allows you to urinate in a standing position, so you avoid coming into contact with the foliage that surrounds you. - Hand Sanitizer
Because running water is not always available, hand sanitizer is extremely important to have with you so you can kill any bacteria that may be lingering on your hands. - Toothbrush w/Cap
Those cheap toothbrush caps are great at protecting the bristles from getting into contact with dirty surfaces. They are worth the investment. - Toothpaste
Just because you’re camping doesn’t mean you should stop your dental hygiene routine. Brushing your teeth every day is important! - Floss
Same goes with flossing. You can’t forget this important step of your dental routine. - Rubber Flip Flops
Shower floors and fungus – need we say more…? - Hair Scrunchy/Hair Ties
When you’re camping, it’s nice to have a way to secure your locks – especially if it’s hot or windy. - Nail Clipper
You never know when you’ll break or tear a nail. - Nail File
A nail clipper can never give you the smooth finish a nail file will – AMIRITE? - Tweezers
Tweezers are great at removing unwanted stray hairs and can also double as a great tool to remove a sliver if need be. - Disposable Razor
A razor will be quite useful if you plan on going for a dip and want to have a smooth bikini line and hair-free legs. - Travel-size Shaving Lotion
Only pack a small travel-size bottle of shaving lotion. You’ll most likely only use it once or twice, so no need to pack a large bottle! - Sleep Mask
You may notice you’ll wake up much earlier when you’re out camping. That’s because your tent becomes bright and lit up from the early morning sunrise. If you like to indulge in your beauty sleep, a sleep mask will keep things dark for you as long as you wish!
